Should Carolina At Least Make A Call To Bradley Chubb?

Earlier today the Miami Dolphins released outside linebacker Bradley Chubb. The move will free up $7.3m in cap space for the Dolphins this upcoming season. Chubb (29) is a former 5th overall pick out of NC State, by the Denver Broncos in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Now for the Panthers who are in need of help at the outside linebacker position, would it be the worst move in the world to at least test the waters with Chubb.

Chubb signed a 5yr $110 million dollar extension with the Dolphins back in 2022. What he would command in this market is unclear to me right now, but given his extended injury history (see below) one would think Carolina could sign him to a team friendly deal.

Injury History

  • 2023–2024 (Right Knee Tear): Suffered a season-ending injury in Week 17 of 2023, requiring surgery to repair his right ACL, meniscus, and patellar tendon. He missed the entire 2024 season.

  • 2019 (Left ACL Tear): Tore his left ACL in Week 4, causing him to miss the remainder of the season.

  • Other Injuries: Throughout his career, he has dealt with various minor injuries, including ankle issues (2021) and a hand/shoulder injury in 2022.

Chubb came back last year for Miami and had a respectable 8.5 sacks, 47 Solo tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. Would this be enough for Dan Morgan and Ejiro Evero to see what it would take to bring Chubb to Charlotte. Would Panther nation approve or would you want the team to look elsewhere. Comment below and let me know how you feel.

As always Panther Nation, Y’all Be Good, Be Safe and Keep Pounding Mayne!!!
