James Bryant Jr - June 25, 2025
Everyone who watches the NFL by now knows the struggles of the first 2 seasons of Bryce Youngs career. Highlighted by Young being benched after the first two games of last season. After 5 games watching from the sidelines, Young finished the season on a high note wining 4 games, and in it until the final posession in another 3. He also looked more comfortable in the pocket. Earlier in the 24' season Young was running early out of very clean pockets provided by his offensive line. I honestly feel him being benched gave him a perspective that he hasn't had in a while.
The question I have now is what does a successful Year 3 look like for the Panthers QB? Now the answer will differ depending on who you ask. Let's throw out two scenarios and let me know what you think.
One big issue I hear about is the fact that Bryce hasn't thrown for more than 3000 yards yet in his career. Let's say he throws for 3900 yds 30 Td & 13 Int. Team Record 9-8 Missed Playoffs
Next Bryce throws for 2900 22 Td & 9Int Team Record 11-6 Division Champs
Now I know what you're all thinking. Of course if we go 11-6 and win the NFC South that will be a successful year for Bryce. Most of Panther Nation would agree but I get the feeling that there are those who just want to see crazy stats.
You have to remember that Bryce was a #1 overall pick whom the Panthers gave up a lot to select. DJ Moore, 2024 first round pick and more. It seems for some that him being able to go and ball out no matter what the outcome is might be more important to them because he hasn't provided the necessary "Return On Investment." This is just a sense of what I hear talking to different Panther fans and even hearing the opinions of non Panther fans. Let me know what you think and throw out your own scenarios as well.
